Bathroom essentials... outfitting your rustic bathroom

bathroom supplies Being well stocked with bathroom essentials makes life's little emergencies easier to deal with.

It is a good idea to have some basic medications and toiletries on hand at your lodge or cabin in case a minor illness, health problem, injury, or personal need occurs. It will make your experience more comfortable and it will help you be a better host to your guests. It also means you don't have to lug things back and forth each time you visit.

What should you have on hand in your rustic bathroom? Here's a basic list.

For women: a small cosmetic bag with your basics.
For men: electric razor or shaving cream and razor

Notes:
Having allergy medicine on hand can be the difference between your guests staying or going, especially during hay fever season or if you have pets.

You should have a first aid kit in a few key places on your property - such as in your bathroom, your workshop, and your vehicles.

If you are on medications for a health condition, keep a small supply at the cabin so in the event you forget your meds, you will be okay. Replace them periodically so they don't get out of date and lose their effect.

Keep all medication out of reach of children and pets.

A "magic bag" that can be heated up or cooled down is useful for pulled muscles and minor injuries. I keep mine in the freezer so it's always cold but I can heat it up in the microwave in minutes if it's needed.

Sunscreen doesn't last for more than a year - so buy new sunscreen and throw the old stuff out every year.

Don't forget a supply of toilet paper!
