Fire and county living go hand in hand!
Most country lodges, log cabins, and cottage have a place for a fire... many have more than one. An indoor fireplace and/or a stove, an outdoor firepit, or maybe just a clearing on some sand. As wonderful as it is to enjoy our fires, it is critically important to ALWAYS keep in mind the powerfully destructive potential of fire. Maintaining a healthy respect for fire will enable you to enjoy all of its positive attributes. Fire safety is always a concern, but all the more so if your lodge or cabin is out in the country far from fire hydrants and fire departments. You live with a risk of losing your shangri-la to a devastating fire. There are things you can do to minimize your risk and maximize your safety.
