Spring in the trees
My husband and I bought 47 acres with a 135 year old house that was unlivable. We chose to go up into the hills and put up temporary housing until we quit driving truck for a living. We chose copse of hickory trees to put a platform in for our floor.
We bought a 16' diameter pre-made yurt for the rest to finish our home. We lived there 2 1/2 years before making other living arrangements.
We cooked on a campfire or a gas grill. We had a nonelectric composting toilet instead of an outhouse and an antique cowboy bathtub for warm weather bathing under the stars. Hauling all the water to live was a pleasure.
It still stands waiting for summer guests to open the doors.
