With granddaughter Isabella
We’ve been enjoying the lodge lifestyle (part-time) for over 25 years!
While our children were growing up we spent weekends at a log cabin in a lakeside summer village. Five years ago we purchased a cabin in the woods with 12 acres – a fixer upper – that we’ve lovingly nurtured and made our own. It's still a work in progress but it's also an outlet for creativity and a place to relax.
To keep us busy, we have a woodworking shop, two kayaks, a wonderful old canoe (that we bought for a case of beer!) and a well stocked bookshelf. Bird watching books, binoculars, cameras, and art supplies are always close at hand.
Our property is loaded with berries in the summer - wild strawberries, raspberries, saskatoons, and blueberries. We've seen deer, moose, porcupine, bats, and, although we haven't come face-to-face with a bear (thank goodness), we know they are out there. Our land is heavily wooded so we have no shortage of firewood to chop.
Dinners on the deck, Sunday mornings with the grandchildren, entertaining friends for the weekend, or enjoying our solitude, we've come to rely on the rejuvenation we experience each time we visit the lodge.
We love it so much that we decided to create this web site to share our enthusiasm and ideas, and to help others find and experience the lodge lifestyle. If you have a passion and the thought of an online business appeals to you, check this out. It might just change your life!
We hope you will consider sharing your ideas and stories for the benefit and enjoyment of other site visitors!
