Reader Tip

Ever wonder if your power went off when you were away and whether your freezer kept your food frozen?

Here's a tip sent in by Patsy: "...this has helped us know if our cabin freezer foods have thawed due to electrical outage during our absance. We put 3 or 4 ice cubes in a small sealed plastic snack bag and keep it in the freezer portion of our refrigerator. If we find the ice cubes have thawed and re-frozen into one "chunk" then we know our freezer foods have thawed and refrozen making the foods unsafe to eat." Thanks Patsy!
