We had never been particularly interested in birds before we bought our lodge in 2002. But there were bird feeders and bird houses all over the property surrounding the cabin and we soon found out why! The forest of pine, spruce, birch, and poplar was habitat to so many types of birds. We now get hours of pleasure from observing and photographing our feathered friends!

As an added bonus, our grandchildren are getting to an age when they love to watch the antics of some of the more colorful and active birds. This is turning into a hobby and pastime the entire family loves.
